Apparently WiMax Is Fast Today

I’m honestly finding it a bit slow on HSPA, must check it out. However, ICT For Peace seems to be having a good experience on the WiMax option. OfficeNet+ is the top connection available, it delivers Internet wirelessly to a home router, from which you can do what you want.

    :D

  2. Hik. . . There you go dialog users . . . Use internet on Holidays to get advertised speeds :D

  3. Err.. Indi you make it sound as if WiMax is slow on other days. I’ve got users vouching that WiMax in their areas is stable and closer to the advertised/committed download rates.

    It’s HSPA that is erratic.

  4. @mili & Indi

any of you guys does really use Dialog WiMax at home ? :)

  5. Not me but my neighbour. Meet him everyday, so I’d get it from him if the connection sucks. To date not many problems. :-)

this is a golden statement from a dialog person!

this is not acceptable. i also think your wi-max is better compared to HSPA. but this is the official dialog blog. you should give responsible answeres, we cant rely on what your neighbour says.

These two admins don’t have answers for most of questions, But they can do jokes.

I don’t no, what are they talking about? These official blog admins are not using dialog products. :D

  9. Indi is a wireless freak. If possible he’d embed that hspa device inside him. Thank god the technology isn’t around. So he’s stuck walking with his laptop all over the place. I can’t think of a better HSPA user/tester.

Went I meant neighbor, I mean the guy sitting next to me at work day in and day out. I have to listen to his crap all day, and if WiMax was sucky he’d definitely complain about it. He’s a download freak. His machine is on Torrent’s 24/7 and a Premium Rapid Share user. So I can’t think of any better user/tester for WiMax either. I’ll get him to post a screen shot of his speed.

All I’m saying is that, I doubt there are as many problems with WiMax as with HSPA. The only issue with WiMax is you need line of sight to the tower. If you have it your probably set for life. No connection drops, and committed bandwidth.

HSPA, is more or less a mobile technology. You can’t expect to compare it with ADSL & WiMax. The speed and connection stability will depend on the tower your connected to, the distance from it and the no of users on it. A hell of a lot of variables you don’t have control of.

So if its a reliable, stable connection you want to sit and download from one place, then your choice would be WiMax. If you want the power of being mobile and on the go, and be connected 24/7 no matter where you are in the country it’s HSPA.

  10. Hi, so Mili wanted me to post my download rates here. As a WiMax user I have no complaints. Since Nov ‘08 I have experience only 1 connection drop, for a couple of hours.

These were taken this morning and I am using WiMax 512.

  13. ok,,am a Dialog Wimax user. but i dont get the desired speeds?? i have a 512kbps connection, and when i dowload a torrent it indiactes 1-2kbps downklink is far far below standard, i have given up downloding movies now..can any of guys give me an answer for this???

  14. And further, well I have 12 Dialog mobile connections, 2 DialogTv connections,2 Dialog CDMA connections and this Wimax connection,,,so far the Wimax is a let down for me unlike the other services , and if any of you guys give me a good solution to it, I would seriously recommend it.
Concerning HSPA, i use my mobile phone as a modem to connect my macbook, and at times i do get the lightning speed, but suddenly I get the speed fluctuating similar to a dialup connection. I would also like to figure out the reason for this…

  15. @ TFP
