Dr Hans Named Sri Lankan Of The Year
By LMD. He deserves it. Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya is definitely one of the most inspiring, intelligent and sincerely good people I’ve ever met. He has a 5, 10 year vision for Dialog and Sri Lanka and it’s very ambitious and very hopeful.
Right now is a tough time both economically, and also because the company is investing in new businesses. However, the long-term vision is incredibly sound. Dialog is slowly becoming a company that delivers Mobile, Internet, TV and Fixed Line technology to Sri Lanka which, when you think about it, is pretty cool. Like, I’m in a third world country using mobile broadband, and checking my email on my phone. Someone in Arugam Bay is watching HBO. Someone is calling their mother in the Middle East on a CDMA from somewhere fixed lines never reached. And Dr brought all that technology to Sri Lanka, and made Dialog one of the most successful businesses in the region. And respected. If you step back and think about it, it’s pretty cool.

Just a another BIG JOKE….
Dialog has invested some amount for HSDPA, but Quality of Service is really nice to hear to us ?????
Dear Dialog people,
I write this with great frustration over your service.
I am really happy to see what you guys are doing to improve the service, but I wonder how much effort it is going to take.
My most recent bad experiannce happened today. I had a dialog post paid, which I disconnected on november 11th (main reason for disconnection was again disappointment). I received a cheque with a letter dated 26th that my outstanding is 751.20 and balance is refunded through this cheque.
I had a standing order to settle my bills.
When I was looking at my bank statement today, I noticed that Dialog has billed me again on 2nd December.
I tried to contact the CC, the first call was put on hold for 7-8 mins and got disconnected. I called again, then the the CC was telling me that it is possible to keep me billing even after I disconnected.
Then I explained that I have received a letter on 26th stating my outstanding and refunding the balance, and dialog cannot bill me after that. But it was in vain. I asked her if can talk to someone with authority or to her supervisor, but she said hat was not possible. I was lot even able to lodge a complain. (I disconnected a Mobitel post paid and my refund was settled over the counter in cash at that moment, which is great service)
Unfortunately, I had a standing order and I was billed for this amount. If not I would not pay a cent. For me once I disconnect and got the refund, it is over. I dont want my operator to come and haunt me after that.
I hope at least one of you guys out there will understand my point. How long it will take for you to correct all these blunders. Only then you will be geared to provide “customer service”.
